La fine dell'anno del Centenario della nostra Beneamata la riconsegna alla storia e alla Sua storia dopo una lunga festa, impreziosita da alcune pagine da ricordare, da tenere vicino al cuore. Quelle pagine sono popolate dai volti di tutte le persone che vi hanno partecipato: come se sfogliassimo un album, ecco apparire il popolo nerazzurro che ha voluto festeggiare la propria fedeltà infantile a quei colori, capaci ancora di muovere sogni e passioni.
Mescolando immaginazione e memoria, li rivedo tutti in mezzo al campo a gioire, in una specie di furore dionisiaco capace di abbattere ogni barriera, sociale, culturale, materiale. C'è Mario che da tanti anni viene allo stadio in bicicletta da Rho, c'è Alberto ragazzino che sbircia dal cielo alto, c'è la marcia dei campioni di sempre. La storia di F.C. Internazionale Milano è stata anche questo, per vocazione.
Un solo pallone è al centro del campo. Un solo pallone per tutti: tifosi, presidente, società, allenatori, giocatori. Fino ad oggi, forse, abbiamo giocato sempre e solo la stessa partita, mentre la vita ci prendeva a schiaffi o ci accarezzava; per continuare a scrivere bene la nostra storia serve gioco di squadra, il rispetto verso chi ci ha preceduto e il coraggio di superare quel che di buono è stato fatto, la saggezza di cento anni e l'ingenuità di un nuovo giorno.
L'augurio che ti faccio, cara Inter, è che l'urlo del "Giuseppe Meazza" e della tua gente sia sempre nella corsa in campo del capitano e dei suoi compagni, che questo amore resti sempre acceso. Da Manchester. Per sempre.

The club was founded on 9 March 1908 as Football Club Internazionale Milano, following a "schism" from the Milan Cricket and Football Club(43 members). A group of Italians and Swiss (Giorgio Muggiani, a painter who also designed the club's logo, Bossard, Lana, Bertoloni, De Olma, Enrico Hintermann, Arturo Hintermann, Carlo Hintermann, Pietro Dell'Oro, Hugo and Hans Rietmann, Voelkel, Maner, Wipf, and Carlo Ardussi) were unhappy about the domination of Italians in the AC Milan team, and broke away from them, leading to the creation of Internazionale. From the beginning, the club was open to foreign players(Indeed, the first captain of the side is a Swiss player - Hernst Manktl) and thus lived up to its founding name.

Our Beneamata's Centenary year comes to an end after a long party, adorned with pages of history to remember, to hold close to the heart. These pages are populated by the faces of all those people who took part. It's as if we browsed through a photo album and saw the Inter fans who wanted to celebrate their infantile support for these colours, a support capable of moving dreams and passions.
Mixing imagination and memory, I see them all rejoicing in the middle of the pitch, in a kind of Dyonisian fury capable of breaking down every barrier, be it social, cultural or material. There's Mario who for many years has cycled to the stadium from Rho, there's the young boy Alberto who looks down from the sky, there's the march of the champions of always. The history of F.C. Internazionale Milano has also been this, for vocation.
Just one ball at the centre of the pitch. One ball for everyone: fans, president, club, coaches, players. Perhaps, until today, we have always played the same match, while life slapped or caressed us. To continue writing our history we need a team game, respect towards those who have preceded us and the courage to surpass the good that has been done, the wisdom of a hundred years and the naivety of a new day.
My wish for you, dear Inter, is that the roar of the Giuseppe Meazza and your people is always in the running on the pitch of the captain and his team-mates, and that this love is always alive. Starting from Manchester. For always.
